YES and their use is mandatory from 1/1/2010 for all sheep and goats, according to EU Directive 21/2004
From what age on is the placement of e-tags or boli mandatory?
From the age of 6 months the electronic identification is mandatory for all sheep and goats
At what age is it safe to place an identification bolus in my livestock;
The use of electronic boli is not recommended in animals younger than 3 months or of weight less than 25 kilos.
